For 37 years, Old Woodlands Town Centre stood beside the Johor–Singapore Causeway, serving as Singapore’s northernmost gateway and a familiar landmark for a generation of travellers. Once a bustling border town, it eventually made way for redevelopment in 2017. Today, the plot of land which it sat on will become part of the checkpoint itself. Similar to the past, a place defined by movement and transition.
